Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) was formed in 1978. This talk show focuses on the "design of YMO" by Heikichi Harada, who was responsible for the design and art direction of the band's record jackets, "SOLID STATE SURVIVOR" (1979 ALFA) and "Public Pressure" (1980 ALFA), as well as the pamphlets and posters for the YMO world tour. The interviewers are Eiichi Yoshimura, a writer and editor who has edited and written many books related to YMO, and Kiyonori Muroga, an editor deeply involved in design and typography.
This program takes a look behind the scenes at Harada Heikichi's early art direction for YMO and the design of some of their historic album jackets.
